The Executive Director of Mkalama District Council, Hajjat Asia J. Messos, on Wednesday conducted an inspection tour of development projects worth TZS 480.2 million being implemented in Kinampundu, Mwanga and Nkalankala wards.
The projects, valued at TZS 480,195,000, are aimed at improving access to quality education and healthcare services for residents across Mkalama District.
During the inspection, Ms Messos visited several ongoing and completed projects, including the construction of six classrooms, an administration block, 16 toilet cubicles and two model classrooms at Grace Mesaki Primary School.
She also inspected the completion of two science laboratories at Seth Benjamini Secondary School, as well as one laboratory each at Selenge Secondary School and Grace Mesaki Secondary School.
In the health sector, the Executive Director assessed progress on the completion of the Malaja Dispensary, while in Nkalankala Ward she inspected the construction of 24 toilet cubicles at Nkalankala Primary School.
Speaking during the tour, Ms Messos stressed the importance of close supervision to ensure all projects are completed on schedule, meet the required quality standards and begin delivering essential services to the people of Mkalama District.
The inspection forms part of the district council's ongoing efforts to strengthen accountability and ensure public development funds are translated into improved social services for local communities.
