R&B singer Ashanti and rapper Nelly have finally broken their silence on their complicated love story — one filled with highs, heartbreaks, and an unexpected happy ending.
The American stars revealed that before reuniting, their relationship was marked by tension and emotional distance — to the point where they never imagined they’d find their way back to each other. After more than a decade of an on-again, off-again romance, the two officially split in 2013.
But love had other plans.
In 2023, Ashanti and Nelly rekindled their romance, eventually tying the knot in a secret wedding in December of that year. The joy continued in July 2024 when they welcomed their first child together — a baby boy named Kareem Kenkaide "KK" Haynes.
Their incredible journey will now be showcased in a new reality docuseries titled "Nelly & Ashanti: We Belong Together," set to premiere on Peacock on June 26. The series dives deep into their love story, the painful chapters of separation, and how they found a second chance at love — now as parents.
Ashanti and Nelly are not just stars of the show — they also serve as executive producers alongside Jenny Daly, J. Erving, and Lauren Lazin, promising fans an authentic and intimate look at their lives behind the spotlight.
