Sense International, through its youth empowerment project for students with special needs, has donated modern equipment to support inclusive education at a college for students with disabilities in Singida.
The donation event took place yesterday and was led by Sense International’s Project Officer, Emiliana Protas Rutakyamirwa. She stated that the equipment was provided with the support of their international donors – Faroe Islands and the Hodge Foundation.
“These tools are intended to empower students and help them thrive both in the classroom and in adapting to their learning environments,” said Emiliana.
The items donated include printers, projectors, computers, chairs, and various teaching aids, all aimed at enhancing the quality of education for students with special needs.
The Head of the College, Ms. Fatma Malenga, expressed her gratitude, noting that the equipment will go a long way in improving both teaching and learning outcomes.
“These resources will significantly boost students’ ability to engage with their studies and will also enhance the teaching process. We truly appreciate Sense International for providing high-quality tools and computers,” said Malenga.
She also announced the launch of a Gender Desk at the college, designed to provide a safe and open platform for addressing gender-based violence and related issues.
The event’s guest of honor, Edward—Senior Social Welfare Officer for Singida Region—officially handed over the equipment and commended Sense International for their timely and impactful support.
“This donation, which includes wheelchairs, hearing aids, white canes, and projectors, is a clear demonstration of inclusion. These tools will allow students to participate more fully in both education and society,” said Edward.
