The Minister of State in the Prime Minister’s Office (Labour, Employment, Youth and People with Disabilities), Ridhiwani Kikwete, today handed over assistive devices to people with disabilities at the Saba Saba Vocational Training and Rehabilitation Centre in Singida Region.

The donated items include wheelchairs, white canes, and Braille paper for the visually impaired. The equipment was provided by the Workers’ Compensation Fund (WCF) as part of their 10th anniversary celebrations.

Speaking during the event, Minister Kikwete praised WCF for their outstanding efforts in supporting people with disabilities across the country.

"WCF is doing an incredible job connecting and empowering this community, not only here in Singida but across the entire nation," said Kikwete.

He also commended President Dr. Samia Suluhu Hassan for her leadership, noting that WCF’s impactful initiatives are a result of her guidance and directives.

On her part, Singida Regional Commissioner Halima Dendego appreciated WCF’s decision to direct their support specifically to the Saba Saba.

"WCF could have chosen any location in the country, but they chose Singida. We are truly grateful," Dendego stated.

WCF Director General Dr. John Mduma emphasized the fund’s commitment to reaching and uplifting vulnerable groups in society:

"We are touched by the challenges faced by different communities, and we remain committed to doing even more to bring people together," said Dr. Mduma.

Fatma Malenga, Principal of the Saba Saba Centre, expressed her gratitude and highlighted the institution’s continued efforts in offering inclusive training and services to students with disabilities.

Over the past four years, WCF has invested over TZS 1 billion in community outreach and support programs.
