Singida is one of the regions that has been active in every field, the sports side is good, the media  also are doing well both is promoting Singida Region, everyone is doing their part.

The political side also continues to do very well, Singida has produced a Minister of Finance who is Mwigulu Lameck Nchemba and has great leaders who represent Singida.

My article focuses more on Singida Municipality where it has a very good history but today I will look at the very small history of this Municipal from when it started until today and in the future you will see the objective of the headline above.

Before Singida Municipal was called ‘’Mji mdogo wa Singida’’ when the movement to divide between Singida Urban and Singida Rural was called Sub-District and among the first Directors were the Lipendele along with ‘’Mama’’ Sumari.

However, the sub-district was not given a District Commissioner but the Singida District Commissioner continued to govern both Districts, a situation that has continued until today.

The essence of this article is that throughout I have given you history, my goal is to highlight the leaders who once led from the Mji wa Singida to being called Singida Municipal and here we start in 1981 in the leadership area where they were previously called the Chairmen of Singida Town and are now called the Mayor.

It has been 20 years since it was changed to be called Singida Municipal and now its leaders have also changed, they were called MAYOR, that is, the Mayor of Singida Municipal.

Starting from there, Yagi Maulid Kiaratu who is currently the Mayor of the Municipal becomes the third after two who have previously led this Municipal.

They started being called the Mayor of Singida Municipal in 2005 until now 20 years have passed and the city of Singida continues to be in a good area.

The first Mayor of Singida Municipal is our brother Honorable Salum Mahami he has been there for ten years from 2005 to 2015.

From 2015 to 2020 he has taken over from our elder Honorable Gwae C. Mbua for five years in which he has served as Mayor of Singida Municipality.

At that time Gwae is taking on the role of Mayor, one of his assistants in the 5 years he served Honorable Yagi Kiaratu was once the Deputy Mayor and worked very well with him.

Things has changed from being Deputy Mayor where in 2020 to 2025 His Excellency Mayor Yagi Kiaratu has been leading the seat with great beauty and a very pure spirit.

Currently Gwae Mbua is the Deputy Mayor, the plaque has turned and history has been written in black ink with a twist.

Yagi has been doing well and making Singida Municipality beautiful and is one of the leaders with a very high level of influence.

Singida City is growing and continues to be beautiful right now, all this is the good management of the leaders of Singida region including His Excellency Mayor Yagi Kiaratu.

He is also a councilor of Majengo ward, let's look at the way it has been built and how clean his work has continued to be seen in the ward.

Aside from that, the list of MAYORS since it changed in 2005 is the list of Singia Town Chairmen, officially starting in 1981 where Mathayo J. Hango has led this seat for one year until 1982.

The journey continued where Rajabu W. Munkhola took the position in 1983 until December 1983 when he stepped down and gave the baton to others.

From 1984 to 1988, brother Hassan T. Simba came and he sat for four years in that position which is currently the same as the Mayor at that time it was called the Chairman of Singida Town.

After that, Hassani Simba Ikuja took the position from 1989 to 1998 he sat for 9 years in that seat and left it to someone else.

The last in the list was Salum M. Mahami, who now led from 1998 to 2005, having served for 7 years.

After that, it changed to Singida Municipality, which I have already explained above, from 2005 to 2025, it is recognized as Singida Municipality and those who lead are the Mayor, not the Chairman of Singida City.

In general, there are 8 leaders who have each given their service according to what God has given them and led Singida in a safe way.

Singida Municipality has everything, it has the main market of the Singida Region, it has the Onion Market, it has the Fruit Market, it has the Main Bus Stand, along with other good things that make Singida shine.
